Jakarta government is holding hands with Indonesia’s 8 startups. This partnership will go forward to reach Jakarta ‘smart city’. The city has a target of being Jakarta 4.0 before 2025.
The startups role for Jakarta smart city
Gojek and Grab would be in charge of the city’s ‘smart mobility’. Both are to provide an integrated, safe and tracked on-demand transportation service. In addition, Gojek is also making a new column for ‘Enjoy Jakarta’, allowing users an easier access to tourism attractions and event tickets in the city.
Meanwhile, the e-commerce platforms would be in charge of economic growth in the city. In particular, Tokopedia has the task of training the SME2 to be able to compete in the digital economy era. Shopee and Bukalapak will also participate in realizing the ‘smart economy’ program.
DuitHape, which is a new mobile wallet startup in the country will also participate in the economy sector. It will help the government in distributing social aids. As well as moving the economy cycle of all parts of the society.
On the other hand, AI company Nodeflux will help the government in detecting unpaid tax from the people. It will also provide a system that connects number plate and tax to detect unpaid tax better.
Last but not least, Botika, another AI company in the list, will launch Javira. It is a chatbot, as known as virtual assistant for the people in Jakarta.
“The meeting this morning symbolized a partnership. But the most important thing is not actually on the document, rather, it’s the act after the document was signed. And we are hoping a lot that this partnership will bring a lot of solution for the people of Jakarta,” stated Anis Baswedan, Governor of Jakarta.
